Housing is one of the critical issue areas identified for Austin’s Comprehensive Plan.  And clearly, affordability is integral to a discussion on housing.  How do we ensure “all kinds of housing in all parts of town” is embraced as a community priority in the Plan?  What are the connections of housing to other elements of the Comprehensive Plan?  How do neighborhood planning, education, transportation, and other elements affect housing? 

HousingWorks 6^th Annual Housing Summit will explore these questions and more with a particular focus on:

§  Understanding the Comprehensive Plan – Opportunities & Limitations

§  What type of housing does Austin need as it grows and how are those housing needs incorporated into the Plan?

§  What are the challenges to ensure affordable housing for all residents in all parts of town?

§  How do we facilitate “integrated planning” that recognizes the interconnectivity of schools, jobs, services, health, transportation and housing?
